Weaving bast basket from a magazine rod
To weave a basket you will need:
• journal paper tubes - 46 pieces;
• double sided tape;
• PVA glue;
• clothes pegs.
Two squares with sides of 20 cm are cut out of cardboard. A double-sided tape is glued onto one of them, and 20 pieces are evenly distributed. A layer of scotch is superimposed on top, then the whole structure is covered with the second square and pressed down.
The protruding tubules — the legs — are bent at a right angle to the bottom, and weaving begins with an additional working rod. As required, the extension of working whips is made. Having passed two rows of simple binding, 4 more tubes are added to the working threads.
Each pair of such lashes embrace the base stands alternately. So it turns weaving "rope". This pattern is performed on this product twice, the distance between the “strings” is made in six rows of plain binding.
Having finished the last turn of the pattern, the worker threads break off and stick to the main web of the walls. Closes the work of twisting racks for each other in the opposite direction.
Now the top of the resulting model is covered with a thick layer of PVA glue and left for long drying. The final manufacturing operation is to trim all the extra tips of the uprights.
The finished basket can be painted with any impregnation or varnish for wood. Our product is covered with two colors of lacquer: walnut and rosewood.
