The Italian held the Romanian in sexual slavery for ten years
Italian policemen found in the basement of the 52-year-old Aloisio Giordano's house a secret room in which a man held a Romanian-born prisoner for ten years. Giordano regularly tortured, beat and raped a woman who during this time bore him two children.
It is noteworthy that in the mid-1990s, Giordano was already convicted of similar actions against another woman and spent several years in prison, after which he was released ahead of time for good behavior, reports the Daily Mail.
Returning from imprisonment to his mortally ill wife and two children in the village of Jizzaria in Calabria, he hired a Romanian, then 19, to care for the house. After the death of his wife, Giordano suggested that the housekeeper stay with him, but after a while he locked her in the basement.
The next ten years, the woman spent in the basement, chained to a metal rod in unsanitary conditions without water and electricity, regularly subjected to torture and rape by Giordano. She had two children from her tormentor, a boy who is now nine years old, and a three-year-old girl. At the same time, the eldest child Giordano was forced to take part in the torture of his mother, threatening in case of refusal by beating him.
About the incident it became known only by chance, after the police stopped a Giordano car and noticed an exhausted child in the back seat. Militiamen decided to visit the man’s house and during the inspection of the housing they found a secret room in which there was a woman with her youngest daughter. Romanian said that all this time spent without contact with the outside world, and the last year Giordano did not let her wash.
Giordano is currently under arrest. The police placed the woman with children in a safe place, whose name was not disclosed.
Journalists have already compared this case with the history of the Austrian maniac Josef Fritzl, who held his own daughter in sexual slavery for almost a quarter of a century.
