Lockheed Martin and KAI presented their prototype T-X aircraft

The circle is closed - the T-50 made by the Americans is preparing to return to their native land in order to fight there for the last of the major aviation contracts: a promising T-X advanced training aircraft to replace the T-38 (which are peers of the L-29)

For the Koreans themselves, the T-50 is a big pride, it is actively promoted to Asian markets (not without success), and if successful, the plane has sooo good prospects. The presentation was attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Park Geun Hye.
Presentation
From the visual differences of the prototype T-X from the original T-50 it is worth noting the course developed gargots. Considering that the receiver of the boom is located there (it is necessary to teach the cadets to refuel in the air), most likely the gargot is a conformal fuel tank. There is no need to deploy there, by analogy with the F-16D / I / F of additional avionics and EW equipment - no one in their right mind on TCB is going to fight, so the combat capabilities of the "almost fighter" T-50 (aka FA -50) a little lost.
In addition, the cabin equipment and avionics were updated on the plane. I wonder if they will put the radar at all.
Excellent video, while it seems the only shooting from all angles, including the top. Attention - on many frames the "usual" T-50.
Opponents of Korean-American origin will be the Northrop Grumman & BAE Systems, General Dynamics & Alenia Aermacchi and Boeing & Saab teams. What specifically expose is known only about the Italians (GD’s participation seems purely nominally) - the re-branding of the M-346 under the T-100 index. Yes, the Yak-130 could become a promising American training plane))) his chances are of course illusory.
On the side of the LM & KAI alliance, there is a well-established production of T-50, good compatibility with F-22/35 (or at least they will be able to rest on advertising). The question of choice will be largely internal MICT-political, I do not exclude that for these reasons they can give to Boeing (who whines that he will have a “military” direction within 5-7 years).
Next year, the KAI / LM T-X should begin testing in Korea, and in 2017 in the USA.
