“French Romance” - decoupage of a bottle of champagne
In order to prepare the surface for decoupage, you first need to remove all the "native" labels. Hold the bottle in room temperature water for several hours, then use a sponge to remove the label with a brush. Remnants of glue are removed with cotton wool soaked in vegetable oil.
The next stage is degreasing. It is required to remove all residual oil so that the paint will fit well on the glass. The bottle can be cleaned with alcohol, special degreaser or liquid for washing windows and glasses with alcohol content. Walk on the surface of cotton wool with the above, blot dry towel.
It is more convenient to put paint on a bottle not with a brush, but with a piece of a sponge for washing dishes. For convenience, mount it on a plastic clothespin. We ground with not pure white paint, we will make the color matte: add yellow and black colors.
Apply two or three coats of acrylic primer or paint successively, with mandatory drying. Bubbles of paint that will occur on the surface, you need a long time to burst a sponge.
Preparing the main picture
So, while the paint dries, you can do a picture. Here she is.
This is cardboard, and any cardboard is several layers of paper. The top layer is glossy, as if already varnished, the pattern is applied to coated paper. The lower layers are darker and more dense.
Flip the picture, gently pull on the edge of the delaminated cardboard. As shown in the pictures.
Be extremely careful not to damage the paint layer!
The next step is to rub the surface of the cardboard with a finger dipped in clean water, as if rolling the excess paper into small rolls.
If it turns out that the cardboard can be stratified again, then do it.
Try on the picture for the bottle. Indeed, it looks noble.
The last stage of the preparation of the picture: put the picture on white paper with a colorful side, moisten it fairly abundantly and continue to remove excess paper with a cotton swab or finger (note, this is white, not light brown paper).It is important not to overdo it, so that a hole does not form in the drawing.
Attention! Do not attempt to take pictures of white paper until it is dry! If you can not wait to continue working, dry the image with a hairdryer.
Finishing work with surface and picture
Now the dried layers of paint on the bottle must be sanded with sandpaper. With external smoothness, small cavities will form all the same. You can either leave them without filling, or put a very thin layer on top, literally in 0.1 mm layer of putty (put with a plastic card or even your finger).
Stroke the picture from the inside with the iron (medium temperature).
To glue the first and main motive, prepare PVA glue. It will need to be diluted with water 1: 1 (one part of glue and about the same amount of water), mix thoroughly.
Smear the bottle in the place where the main plot will be located with PVA glue with water, grabbing the periphery. To do this, put the champagne on its side on a towel, which is not a pity to be soiled with liquid glue.
Carefully stroke the picture with a brush or fingers. Since this is not a napkin, it is problematic to damage the paint layer, especially since the cardboard was like lacquer.By the way, when ironed by iron, small cracks could form on the surface, this can be called the aging effect, which is often specially used by masters.
We need to choose the right napkin in advance for the main motive, then we will work with it using two techniques: decoupage with a file and direct decoupage. We will not paint the background with paint; it will be enough to take motifs that are suitable for color. I chose a serving napkin with a picture of Paris: there are flower fragments on it, the Eiffel Tower, inscriptions (although for some reason in English), the names of Parisian streets.
I recommend to treat the words carefully and tear them from the napkin so that they can be easily read on the bottle later. I have these words: "family, home, time" and others. You can also read the following phrases: "Having someone to love ia family" and "Having someone to go is home." Nice words that can be addressed to the person for whom the gift is intended.
So, the napkin is gradually tearing into motives. Sometimes you need to look at the images for a very long time and think about where to attach this or that flower. Do not forget that when wetting the cloth increases, the surface, which will cover the dry and wet paper, are different. It is not necessary to separate all motives at once.Some may get lost in the process, or suddenly it turns out that the picture is too small.
At first, the fragments will be quite large; closer to the end of the work, you will stick all smaller motifs or background elements, up to 2x2 mm.
The first I took a floral motif, since such a beautiful lady, as in our main picture, should certainly be surrounded by flowers. The drawing is placed on the file face down, wetted with water and expel air bubbles from under the napkin with a soft brush.
Gently put the picture in the right place on the bottle. I remove the file, the picture remains on the surface. And only now I smear the napkin with glue. Liquid glue permeates the motive and firmly attaches it to the bottle.
In the same way, I stick other larger pieces of napkin. In the photo below you can see the intermediate result. Important! Before each next stage I dry the surface with a hairdryer, sometimes it is necessary to fix the napkin with a brush or hand, but this should be done very carefully.
I have flowers around the girl.
That's how I try on a dry napkin with a motive, I decide where to stick it.In this case, this floral motif was in a completely different place.
In the same way, I glue the whole bottle, turning it to myself, one by one, then another. Sometimes it is more convenient to put it on the bottom, and sometimes - put it on a napkin. It happens that you want to level the surface with sandpaper or tint the background (if the glue has spread), every time I use a hairdryer for drying. I paste small fragments of a napkin without a file, by direct decoupage. I spread a dry napkin on top with glue and a brush, gently smooth it.
On a napkin, some flowers were not fully depicted. The color scheme of this work is as follows:
- gray, brown - the colors of the background, inscriptions and the Eiffel Tower;
- red is the color of a rose;
- blue - the color of the carnation;
- green is the color of the leaves.
Incomplete flowers I have at the bottom or top of the bottle, so that there is a feeling that the whole flower is simply not visible.
At the very end of work with the help of braid and glue gun I decorate the cork.
This is the result, see the photos.
Carefully inspect the bottle from all sides. There was no desire to correct something, to paint on paints? Then it remained only to cover the work with varnish.
Cover the work better acrylic glossy varnish on 2-3 layers.
Some places do not dry out immediately, it takes time.
So, the work is ready! A bottle of French romance blows from the bottle, and you can recognize yourself or your loved ones in the pretty girl who is depicted on her! That's how the picture from the packaging of apple marshmallow came in handy. Be attentive to the world around you, it is full of wonderful things!
