Flushing of injectors: additives, solvents or ultrasound
The nozzles are designed for spraying mixedwith the air of the fuel entering the cylinders of the internal combustion engine under high pressure. If the nozzle is sound and clean, the spray mixture enters the cylinder in a cone-shaped shape. If it is clogged and has a deposit, the spray pattern and the proportion of the fuel / air mixture will change, which will increase fuel consumption and adversely affect engine performance. To prevent this from happening, the car owner should not lose sight of their condition, and regular flushing of the injectors should become mandatory.
Fuel injectors operate in a veryaggressive environment. In this regard, the quality and purity of fuel are of great importance, since very small organic contaminants, burning down, settle on the nozzles of the nozzles in the form of a deposit layer. Flushing the nozzles is necessary in order to clean this deposit. It can be implemented in different ways.
More recently, the washing of the nozzleshands was not so much a priority, as the only opportunity for all drivers of road transport, without exception. Nowadays, special technologies have been developed that make it possible to carry out preliminary prevention of deposit formation on nozzles and specialized equipment, which is commonly referred to as stands where automated nozzle washing is performed.
Owners of vehicles wash themindependently additives (additives) to fuel. Nowadays, the market offers a large selection of tools to care for the equipment, including reagents, with which the pre-flushing of the injectors is carried out. They need to be added to the fuel system every two to three thousand kilometers. As a result, the minor soot formed on the injectors during the operation of the car is removed.
These additives are good and effective, they prolongthe lifetime of the injectors, help keep the entire fuel system clean, but only as a preventative to prevent the formation of a thick layer of carbon. In no case can add additives, if the nozzles already have old dirt. The pieces of carbon that have been washed off the surface of the nozzle will penetrate into the filter, block the pipeline, get under the great pressure of the fuel pump into the cavity of the nozzles and finally spoil them.
Therefore, when there are already nozzles on the nozzlesa layer of carbon deposits, it is possible, without removing the nozzles from the engine, to wash them with solvents on the stand. At the same time, the car engine starts, and at this time, the entire system is flushed, and the condition of the injectors, their operability and the spraying pattern of the fuel mixture are tested. Such a flow washing of nozzles in an automated mode does not take much time. It is effective at the stage of medium pollution, so it is recommended to use it regularly.
If the nozzles are already crooked, then for themonly the ultrasonic cleaning of the nozzles will be effective, because the other two methods are no longer suitable, they will not correct the situation. In this case, the nozzles are removed and placed in a bath with a process solution through which ultrasonic radiation is passed. The caked up carbon begins to peel off and fall to the bottom of the bath.
