& quot; Antonov & quot; wants to put 30 aircraft An-178 Saudi Arabia

The state-owned enterprise Antonov (Ukraine) reported that on December 17, 2015 it signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” with the company Taqnia Aeronautics from Saudi Arabia. This agreement "confirms the parties' intentions to deliver 30 AN-178 multi-purpose aircraft to the Royal Air Force of Saudi Arabia"
Bmpd sideRecall that earlier in April 2015, the same Saudi Taqnia Aeronautics, with the participation of the Saudi KACST Institute (King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology), signed an agreement with Antonov on joint development and production in Saudi Arabia of a transport aircraft An-132 - the “Westernized” version of the An-32, and in November, the “promotion of Saudi Arabia to the market” (whatever that means) of four An-148-100 ambulances, four An-132s in search and rescue variant and two An- 132 in the version of the EW aircraft. The feasibility of all these Saudi Antonov projects (as with the production of the An-132 there, which comes with the delivery of the An-148 and 30 An-178) raises serious doubts. It remains to be seen whether the Air Force of Saudi Arabia is aware of what they are going to buy 30 An-178.
